Our Story

BAMILEK began as a question:
How do we stay connected to culture when living far from home?

Founded in Scotland and rooted in Cameroonian Bamiléké heritage, BAMILEK was born from a desire to reclaim space — for African traditions, storytelling, movement, and community.

What started as creative expression has grown into a practice centred on movement, storytelling + collective care.

The Journey So Far . . .

Over time, BAMILEK has taken form through dance workshops, performances, visual arts, fashion + community gatherings.

Each step has been guided by the same intention: to create spaces where culture is lived, not just spoken about.
